Bio

Joe Durand is a founding principal of TDK Engineering and currently holds the position of President.

In addition to overseeing all business activities, Joe provides direction on all engineering projects from inception and design through permitting and construction.  Prior to launching TDK Engineering in 2001, Joe was a partner at a civil and environmental engineering consulting firm where his responsibilities included project management on civil, environmental and geotechnical engineering projects.

Joe has over 35 years experience and has extensive civil site design experience working on residential subdivisions and commercial/industrial land development projects. This includes the design of water distribution and sanitary sewer systems; site grading, roadway designs and related earthwork activities; preparing drainage and flood studies; and preparing stormwater management and erosion control plans and reports.

In addition, Joe has also designed chemical and petroleum bulk storage and fuel dispensing facilities throughout the northeastern United States. In the environmental arena, he has worked on over 500 groundwater monitoring and remediation projects for petroleum and inactive hazardous waste sites. He has completed multiple hydraulic/hydrological modeling studies for both environmental remediation programs and potable groundwater supply projects and has also conducted Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.

His environmental work experience also includes the design and regulatory permitting of solid waste management facilities, including transfer and disposal; compost; oil recovery; waste tires; and construction and demolition debris processing facilities.  Joe has assisted commercial and industrial facilities with regulatory compliance and enforcement response issues including permit violations, consent orders and the preparation of spill prevention control and countermeasures (SPCC) plans and best management practices (BMP) programs.

Additionally, Joe is a founding partner of Aquarii, Inc. and currently holds the position of Vice President.  Aquarii is an LED lighting company that designs, develops, manufactures and distributes LED lights throughout the United States and Canada.
